I’m Becoming a Stand Up Comedian

APRIL FOOLS! But here is a video about why I could never handle doing that.

  1. I really can’t express how much I enjoyed the pig grunts. You can’t add that to a stand up routine but thankfully it can be displayed on a Youtube video!

Btw… In August at the Illinois State Fair, they will have The Husband Calling Contest and The Hog Calling contest. Gives you a bit of time to get into either event!

  2. Sure am glad I watched that.

  3. I think you could be a stand up comedian. And if the microphone goes off during the punchline, just say “sorry, this microphone just ate my punchline”, and do that sound effect you did.

  4. Reblogged this on The Book of Terrible and commented:
My gift to you on a dark, still Saturday. I present to you now, “live” from the virtual stage of Club Hook, the comedic stylings of Becca Cord.
    You’re welcome.

  5. Fantastic blog..love it..follow

  6. Awesome, and strange coincidence, I posted a video of me doing stand-up today. You should give it a try.

  7. Hecklers are awful. Some comics love them, because they can unleash, but I always just felt like, “This isn’t that kind of show. Vent you anger somewhere else and shut up.”

  8. What about being a sit down comedian? Not only is standing overrated (propaganda from the shoe industry moguls) but sitting suggests you are so relaxed that you must already be a professional and they’ll assume credentials for you. “I think I’ve seen this girl before. Yeah, yeah, she was in one of those “Barbershop” movies. She was the… the girl. That’s totally her!”

  9. Girl do it! You got this! Embrace the potential of fancy ketchup!!!

  10. I was asked once in an interview to purchase a franchise…”If you could do anything and knew you would be successful with no chance to fail, what would you do?” My answer….”I would be a stand up comedian!” True story! :-)

    • Ha! That’s badass Courtney! Did you get the job?

      • We did….actually purchased a franchise and then I was recruited by 2 other companies to try and get me to buy theirs! :-)
This was a consultant we were interviewing with. He matches people who want to purchase franchises with franchises who have investment opportunities. It was designed to see who matched each other. I loved the process!
